Describes the lobe to which the next word applies:
Within the lobe given above, designates the specific cell. See the CellList (C1 or C2) for more information. There are up to three of the lobe/cell pairs in a gene, which define the things that must be true before the instinct is triggered.
The action taken by the Creature in response to the lobe/cell pair(s) situation.
The chemical used to reward or punish the Creature. The majority of Instincts reward (31) the Creature when it reacts appropriately, although there are five that punish (32).
The amount of 'reward (31)' or 'punishment (32)' administered to the Creature when it fulfills the requirements of the Instinct.
